A -Z of BDSM with our Over the Knee authors

Posted by Holly Gunner on 16th October 2015

Our authors from the Over the Knee anthology give us an alphabetical insight into the world of BDSM.

A - Anal - go on, give it a try! (LH)

B - Bondage - the practice of restraining someone using ropes, handcuffs, or maybe the silk tie he tugs off as he rises from behind his desk, frowning. (DW)

C - Crop, of course! Especially if you have a pink and purple sparkly crop with a pink heart on the end! ;) (LF)

D - Dom, of course. My favourite sort with dark, piercing eyes, sleeves rolled up and a leather belt coming readily to hand (AB)

E - Edgeplay - taking it to the high-risk extreme, maybe with knives or breathplay. Not for newbies! (DW)

F - Flogging - ooh, baby! Get those tails flying on that sexy naked skin. (LF)

G - Ginger Figging - turning up the heat Victorian style. (LH)

H - Handcuffs - lock me up and do what you do best. (LH)

I - Irrumatio - a crude, rough form of fellatio, sometimes used in D/s play when he wants to show who's boss. (DW)

J - Japanese Robe Bondage.  Also known as Shibari.  This is looked upon as an art form using rope to create beautiful pieces of bondage.  KS

K - Kneel! Say no more (AB)

L - Leather, the smell, the feel... (LH)

M - Mint, specifically peppermint oil judiciously applied to tender places. Just the right sort of ouch! (AB)

N - Nyotaimori - Anyone up for a little sushi? You're the table and I'm fine dining. (WZ)

O - Orgasm, has to be. (AB)

P - Pain - the right kind of pain is an important ingredient in many BDSM relationships. (LF)

Q - Queening - AKA Face sitting - Making sure all the right parts are given attention without letting you get away. (WZ)

R - Rubber.  Many kinksters have a fetish for rubber which can be incredibly sensual and erotic if worn as clothing.  A less attractive side of it though is the rather unpleasant body odour produced from excessive sweating! (KS)

S - Subspace.  An altered state of mind which can be reached during an intense BDSM scene.  It has been described as so beautiful that it's comparable to an out of body experience. (KS)

T - Talking - very important. Dirty talk, yes, but more ensuring both (or more!) partners are on the same page, that boundaries are decided, accepted, and safe words are given. (LF)

U - Urethral Play - A smooth rod, usually metal, for insertion in the urinary passage...want to expand with me? (WZ)

V - Violet wand - an electrical sizzle to add a little spark (AB)

W - Wax Play - Bring on the candles and the safewords, it's time to paint with wax. (WZ)

X - X is the shape of a St Andrew's cross, equipment to ensure the sub can't escape the punishment they deserve (DW)

Y - Yellow.  One of the safewords in the universal traffic light code used by many people practicing BDSM.  Red means stop, YELLOW means slow down and green means all's good, don't stop. (KS)

Z - Zzzzz for nodding off in each other's arms once the dom has administered aftercare and you're basking in the afterglow of pleasure. (DW)
