The time frame of the novel is quite short despite its length, but there is a lot of action packed into those few days. The Dom/sub dynamic is very complex and requires characters with both mental and emotional depth. Both are strong, independent, and successful. I think Ms. Barker did an admirable job exploring a Dom/sub relationship in an environment that was rather spontaneous and intentionally temporary. Ethan’s ability to awaken Fleur’s suppressed desires was the most enjoyable part of the read for me. The love scenes were imaginative and steamy.
