Amber Kell - Divine Magazine featured author for October

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m an extremely introverted mother of two. I prefer cuddling up to my computer and writing to holding a conversation with anyone except my closest friends or family. When forced to leave my cozy home I like to travel the world and learn about other cultures. I also adore really bad sci fi movies.

Amber Kell - Guys Like Romance Too feature

Hello, I’m Amber Kell. I’m mostly known for paranormal and fantasy writing. I enjoy adding a bit of magic into stories. If a series on a college campus is good perhaps one where hot wizards, djinn and werewolves roam would be better.

Amber Kell - Blog Tour stop with Love Bytes

My youngest son decided this summer we were going to go to Disneyland for his birthday. Besides the cost and the oppressive heat, I got to thinking about Walt Disney and world building. If anyone knew how to create an entire environment out of an idea it was Walt.

Amber Kell - Author Spotlight for Porter's Reaper

If you had a familiar, what kind of animal would it be and what would you name them?

Hmm that’s a good question. Well real animals it would be a cat and I would name it Cassie (after my own cat) because she’s mean enough to take out any enemies. If it were a fantasy animal I would pick a dragon because I adore dragons. I would name it Foster because my son has been watching the show Foster’s Imaginary Friendsfor four days while he’s been sick and I can’t get the name out of my head.

Stories sometimes insist on writing themselves. As an author I never know what to say when people ask me where my ideas come from. The question is more where don’t they come from? My muse is an overachiever and never takes a break. During a walk along the water I ponder the fate of Atlantis and underwater societies, watching my son practice karate brings to mind a new spy series, and simply picking out groceries at the store leads to ideas of werewolves meeting in supermarkets. It’s not a matter of not having any story ideas it’s more a matter of trying to pinpoint which ones I want to live with in my head long enough to write them down.

Amber Kell - Long and Short Reviews Blog Tour Stop

When my marketing coordinator at Totally Bound gave me a blog tour list I imagined all the witty bits of literary brilliance that would spill across the page. Yeah, you can stop shaking your head at me any minute now. Frankly writing a story is easier than writing a blog. In a story the characters get to tell you what to say.

Amber Kell - Exclusive Author

Where did the idea for the A Wizard’s Touch series come from?

I don’t always know where my ideas come from. This one evolved because I always wanted to do a story about wizards and even though there are shifters in the books and are love interests it always comes back to wizards in the end.

Amber Kell - USA Today Feature

Three of my favorite vacation destinations:

• Paris. I loved sitting at a little café for breakfast and the fact my 8-year old started saying "croissant" with a French accent. It was also the first country I'd traveled to that didn't speak English.
